Most of the surface water along the route south of Rawlins is too alkaline to drink.  My hiking companions and I used a rental car to set up two water caches at 15 and 30 miles on Sagebrush Creek Road.

7:45 pm- ½ liter of bottled water from a lady driving by on Sagebrush Creek Road.

8:30 pm- 2 liters of bottled water from cache on Middlewood Hill.

12:45 pm- ½ liter bottled water from a family in an SUV on Sagebrush Creek Road.

3:00 pm- 1 ½ liters from town of Riverside, WY.

7:30 pm- 2 liters from North Fork Encampment River.  (Bleach)

4:00 pm- ½ liter bottled water from grouse hunters on dirt road.

9:00 pm- 2 liters from a spring in a meadow.  (Bleach)

12:15 pm- 1 liter from stream feeding North Fork Elk River.  (Bleach)

2:35 pm- 1 ½ liters from dirt biker at FS road 400.

5:50 pm- 1 liter from outlet of Beaver Lake.  (Bleach)

7:15 pm- Violent thunderstorms begin and last all evening.

8:00 pm- ½ liter from a small stream at the base of Lost Ranger Mountain.  (Bleach)

7:00 am- 2 liters from a small stream at the base of Lost Ranger Mountain.  (Bleach)

10:30 am- 1 liter from spring feeding Lena Lake.  (Bleach)

3:00 pm- 1 liter from a stream probably feeding Summit Lake.  (Bleach)

6:00 pm- Thundershowers.

8:15 pm- 2 liters from outlet Fishhook Lake.  (Bleach)
